Description
97cc, twin cylinder, Blue / Silver
Matching engine/ frame numbers
From the paperwork it appears the bike was first registered in December 1967 (I have the original buff logbook).
It was then acquired by Pembroke Classic Motorcycles in 2007 with 7500 miles on the clock. They did a nut and bolt restoration mostly with NOS parts collected from all over the world. When finished it gained 1st place for the best Yamaha at Lotherton bike show. The speedo was new and hence the mileage was reset back to zero.
I acquired the bike in June 2015 and have done a number of classic bike runs where it gained 1st place for 1960’s bikes at the VMCC West Kent Run. The speedo is now showing 977 miles.
This machine is great to ride and looks amazing. There is a discoloration on one of the engine casings caused by an old petrol leak and a minor scuff on the front mudguard, both of which are easy to deal with and shown in the photos. I mention this as the bike otherwise is in a concours condition. It also comes with manuals and literature/ road tests from the period.
No MOT or tax is required as this bike is registered as an historic vehicle.
It’s very reliable and ready to ride away. The reason for selling is that I am downsizing (I have several other bikes) and need the room.
