We are delighted to present for sale this smart Series 2a, in rare crossover configuration. On the outside, the vehicle has lots of desirable features, such as lamp-guards and rear grab handles. A towbar and electrics are fitted to allow towing. The vehicle sits on a brand new set 750 chevron tyres, giving superior off-road and on road ability, whilst also extending the gears of the engine for a more relaxed driving experience.
On the inside is where this old girl shines - there is seating for 7 with three standard seats in the front and twin benches to the rear. Deluxe matting is fitted to the front footwells, with a load mat to the rear. Deluxe interior trim is fitted to the front doors, as can be seen in the photos. The sliding rear windows and alpine lights give the cabin a nice, airy feel. The vehicle also has the very rare and sought after "cat-flap" rear arrangement which is the first generation of the split tailgate - this can be opened so to place items in without lowering the tailgate, or be used as a canopy in the rainy weather! This arrangement also allows a quick conversion to soft-top, which can be carried out for £1650 if requested. The spare is retained on a dog in the rear in the correct place.
Out on the road, this vehicle gives a nice pleasing period driving experience, aided by the larger rubber and the overdrive, giving a more relaxed cruise and the ability to keep with modern traffic more comfortably. The overdrive also helps with fuel economy on longer trips.
