Description
This is a great example of a beautiful and rare car. It is a 1976 Porsche 912e, 2 Litre, black, left hand drive. It was imported to this country from America in 2004 and registered here. I am the third owner since it arrived in Britain and before me it was owed by a very close friend of mine. It is with regret that I am now looking to sell the car. I am realistic about price and have been advised by an expert what I should expect to get for the car, that being said I am in no rush to sell and will wait for the correct price.
Exterior - The car has been kept in good overall condition. Paint work is quite exceptional however there are some imperfections, although minor, around the edges of some panels. The underneath is in very good condition, still with the original under seal and no welding or patches. The fuel tank has been repaired at some point and has new under seal although it is the original tank. Some of the rubber window seals may need replacing at some point as they have started to perish. This is not something that has got any worse since the vehicle came to this country and would of happened in the states. There is very slight bubbling beneath the paint at the corners of the windscreen, on the scuttle, this is the only point on the car. There is a centre cap missing from one of the wheels, something that I am assured is cheap to replace but just not something I have got around to.
Engine - The car runs beautifully and with it being a 2ltr is also pretty economical. Being a flat 4 engine it is much easier to work on, and cheaper, than a 911. It doesnt leak at all, I have a clean garage floor to prove it, and fires up first time, every time. I have just replaced the battery and points.
Interior - All in all very tidy although does have some general wear as you would expect from a 32 year old classic car. The leather is in very good condition with very light wear on the drivers seat. The door cards have been altered at some point to accomodate speakers for a cassette player. The head lining is undamaged however has lost some of its colour. The carpet throughout the vehicle is in good condition and original.
There are a few extras with the car. An air conditioning unit, which would of been fitted when the car was first built but again at some point during its history has been removed. There is also another pair of head lights which gives a slightly different look, although I have never fitted them.
I am not, and do not pretend to be any form of knowledgeable Porsche enthusiast or expert, and many of you viewing this page may know far more than me about this car. I have been as open and honest about my car as I can and will answer any questions that I can.
Many thanks for looking.
