We’re big fans of the BMW Airheads, and we’re pleased to be able to offer a selection of boxer projects at the moment.
This particular bike is a low mileage, low ownership R100, that has been garaged for some time.
Despite its appearance, after a little tinkering and some fresh fuel, the bike quickly burst into life, and it sounds superb. Oil and charge lights extinguish as they should, and there are no untoward noises. There is NONE of the usual boxer start up smoke. The tank is clean and sound, and a brand new pair of knobbly tyres have just been fitted. It’s also has the triple Brembo brake set up. Lights work as they should too.
There’s clearly a fair bit of cosmetic work to do, but this should be the enjoyable part of creating your own version of a custom. Most importantly, this bike is a GREAT mechanical and electrical basis for that, and as usual, at a VERY competitive price
