We have bought this from an estate sale where the Morris 1000 collector has sadly passed away. There has been considerable investment by the previous owner in this lovely little car over the last year and as the MOT history shows it now has a clear MOT until September 2019 with no advisories. To get to this point we believe it has been welded, painted, serviced and many parts replaced. We do have the logbook and the MOT certificate along with the Total Car Check certificate but sadly that is where the history ends as the estate can not locate it.
What we can say is that it has had only 5 previous owners. It has four new wings fitted very well and it has been welded underneath in all the normal places and refinished in blue both on top and underneath. This solid and bright car as had all the money spent and so is ready to enjoy. It drives very well indeed with a smooth gearbox and engine that is happy to cruise at 60 mph.
The MOT history shows very little mileage covered in the last few years and very little since the extensive restoration work.
The interior is original and still presents well. The carpets are non standard but a new set can be purchased for around £70 if you wish to do so. The headlining is good and the dash has been repainted along with the rest of the car.
The wheels have been repainted (but could be redone if you wanted to) and the tyres are all good. There is a new battery fitted. As per the pics it does show very well and is nice and straight. However, there some chips to the nearside wing/ door which was caused on the previous owners driveway when a car sprayed stones onto the side. Rather than touch it in we will leave up to the new owner to decide what to do - please see the pictures!
The chrome is bright but original so could be redone but we think it adds to the car to keep it. There is clearly an additional spot light and badges holder included with the car.
Overall a very nice example that could have some tinkering to make it perfect and a 5k+ car. It is however totally solid and very presentable with a clear MOT until Sept 2019.
