Mercedes 300D W123 1981 Diesel, manual, 4 door saloon, 3005cc.
With a heavy heart I'm having to sell my beloved Mercedes! This is a UK original RHD car. It has been in dry storage for 15 years (since 2003), which has certainly helped preserve the immaculate state of the car.
It’s a manual (4 speed), which is much scarcer than the usual auto version.
The engine is the legendary 3. 0L OM617 diesel. Incredibly reliable and well known for its economy!
This is a very clean example that has obviously been looked after prior to storage and runs sweetly. Odometer reads approx. 130K with a full service history.
The all-important wheel arches and underside are solid and it comes with a full 12 months MOT. There are some tiny blemishes to the paint acquired in storage. The chrome-work is original and in good condition all round.
A great example of the “analogue” car! From new it came with very few optional electrical items that always seem to cause problems in older cars i. e., it has manual windows, manual gearbox and no electronics apart from the ORIGINAL Blaupunkt radio.
The engine is of course mechanical fuel injection.
Interior is finished in blue cloth. Blue carpets, with head and arm rests front and rear. Immaculate seats and headliner.
All controls/ instruments in full working order, including the heater, vacuum operated central locking, heated rear window and even the clock. The original first aid kit is present, as is the warning triangle, original tool-kit and jack in the boot.
In all, an affordable and practical classic. I’m only selling due to two other classics in regular use and lack of space.
