Registered new to Spry’s of Launceston, a Ford main dealer, presumably as a demonstrator in April 1993, the car was then sold to its first owner who kept it until April 2001, selling it back to Spry’s (who registered back in their name).
Spry‘s then sold it to Mr King in January 2002, when he sadly passed away last year, it was registered to Mrs King, so although has had 5 registered owners on the logbook, it is more like 3!
The last owners kept the car in a heated garage and treated it very nicely, hence its condition today.
The black leathér interior is a very luxurious place to be, all in good order, with heated, electric seats, electric mirrors, sunroof, windows, air conditioning, cruise control, pas, heated front and rear screens, original Ford tape/ radio/ 6 CD player, even a trip computer, and it all works!
The bodywork really is very good, having given it a wash and polish, I haven’t found any rust, no bubbles, -nothing! (There is a challenge if you want to come and have a look!).
That said, there are a few imperfections it has gathered over the past 26 years, there are some touched up stone chips on the bonnet, a dint on the passenger rear door, etc, as can be seen in the pictures.
The underside doesn’t appear to have been welded, the inner under wheel arches still have their original paint on them, which have been given a dose of clear wax to preserve them, the rest of the underside has also been treated.
The car has 4 recent Uniroyal tyres, we have just fitted all new brake disks and pads, new battery, new front coil springs and the car has a fresh mot certificate.
The 2. 9 V6 is smooth and powerful, the auto box shifts readily and kicks down smartly when required.
If you are looking for a big, easy to drive, luxury modern classic, this is well worth a look, it is a lot of car for the money.
