We are delighted to present for sale this Series 3 ex-military, in popular ragtop configuration. On the outside there are lots of period features which pertain to its military life, such as the front lifting eyes, front and rear bumperettes, NATO rear hitch with electric point, whip aerials, bonnet mounted spare and rear pioneer tools. There have been some subtle upgrades, such as the larger defender style wing-mirrors and the larger 750 chevron style tyres - these give additional gearing & are self cleaning and give good on and off road ability. The canvas is an older item, but we have elected to leave it as it is in keeping with the condition and military style. We can supply a new one and quote for this if the new owner wishes.
The interior is where this 109 really stands out - with three standard front seats and four sets of rear benches, 11 can be seated including the driver. This would make for an ideal shooting vehicle or for use on an estate, allowing for a large amount of passengers and luggage if required. There is a seat belt bar fitted so that the front passengers have 3 point inertia seat belts. The rest of the cabin is largely standard, with a stereo fitted and the original convoy lighting system which was used in service within the dash. Some sun-visors have been fitted for the driver and front passengers, which is a nice touch.
Out on the road, this old girl gives a pleasing period driving experience, aided by the larger rubber giving slightly more relaxed cruising.
