Alvis TA14 with all original engine, body and interior including carpets, repainted 1993 and fitted with a new wiring loom, Doris as the car is known to my wife and i has been totally reliable during the nine years of ownership. This car is a remarkable survivor, only three former owners, always garaged never had body repairs, apart from fitting all new road springs and a stainless exhaust, replacement oil seals to gearbox and rear axle, and prop-shaft refurbishment, the car has required very little expenditure, a testament to Alvis build quality, at seventy years of age. A very usable motor car. Factory build record. Originally supplied new by Gardiner and Chapman at 214 Hardgate Aberdeen. Bought new by a RAF officer based at RAF Dice he had an altimeter fitted to the glove box lid no doubt for driving in the Alps enabling correct setting of the steering column advance mechanism.
