Porsche 912 targa.

LEFT HAND DRIVE (LHD)

12 MONTHS MOT FROM 17/ 7/ 2020 - 16/ 7/ 2021

Production Completion date 1st September 1968

First Registered by Scania Vabis Porsche - Sweden on 61/ 10/ 1968 and is a European Model.

Original Pflegepass service book.

All receipts for the car dating back to 1969, for every service and work done however minor.

Car appears to have had two previous owners prior to myself, the original owner selling it in March 1991, with the second owner being named on receipts until 2004, before it passed into estate.

Matching numbers, with Porsche COA confirming such.

Originally purchased in late 2012, after it was imported from California, by Karman Konnection, and purchased direct from them.

Car has covered a total of 1, 500 miles since, in my ownership.

At some time in its prior life in the USA it had a full engine rebuild - there are lots of receipts, and the original red plastic porsche registration/ ownership and service document papers. All key locks are the same. Toolkit and original Bilstein jack

Prior to purchase the car had been ‘refurbished’ by kk.

It was resprayed in the original colour of Bahama Yellow (110) - it has always been this colour and has never had a colour change.

Targa top was re trimmed, as were the front seats, so where the Fuchs wheels (I was told these were date matching - they are not). The spare on checking the car recently has a crack in the spoke. That has obviously been there since the car was purchased as its never been on the car, and still has the brand new tyre fitted. I have never had reason to check the spare.

Other work they carried out as part of the sale by Karman Konnection included -
Top end rebuild
Piston & barrel kit
Valve strip down & lap back in
De - coke
New clutch pressure plate, friction plate & release bearing
Solex carburettors were replaced with dellorto drla 36’s. (solex’s were apparently worn and irrepiarable)

Within the first year of my ownership (the first 500 miles) the gearbox was fully rebuilt by Neil Bainbridge as it became a little noisy to say the least, (receipts available). this included the simplified diff modification for the 902 gearbox. Syncros and gears replaced.

When the engine and gearbox were removed for the gearbox rebuild, the tinware was removed, sandblasted and powder coated. The engine cases were checked and found to be matching case halves. The interior was removed. The seats still had the factory sticker paper labels underneath. The carpets were removed and the interior floor taken back to bare metal. The floors and seat pans were excellent with no rust. The floorpan was treated, and new carpets installed. At the same time inertia seat belts were installed. The car was to be used for classic car rally covering over 3, 500 miles in 2013, but events overtook this.

The rear callipers were also refurbished by Classic Car Automotive.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, like buying a brand new house built by a less than perfect national builder, the car ended up being stuck in the garage for over four years, blocked in by scaffolding holding the walls up, whilst a leading national warranty company took their time to honour the claim, and rectify the faults. Repairs were actually completed in September 2019!

The car is now free from from its long term enforced storage. I have registered it as mot exempt.

It still looks very nice and presentable. I have recently fully serviced the car - and just put a brand new Dansk exhaust on it. The car is a European Model so has the european heat exchangers giving out plenty of heat.

I have the original pictures from when the car was imported by kk and what it looked like prior to the refurb. Copies of their original sales literature. Both sets of keys, history file with a lot of receipts. Pictures of the car on purchase and work carried out by KK.

The respray was not the best, and there are a few micro blisters that have appeared caused by water in the air line. It is still looking excellent though.

To be honest, I have too much going on at the moment.

The sale of the car will be funding various Court actions.

Porsche produced 2500 912 targa’s so were produced in limited numbers.

Chassis Number is 129010***, which means it was actually the 44th (LWB) Targa off the production line, when the factory started commencement of the new LWB model after the summer break in 1968. Engine is the 31st one built in that same period.

It appears only 801 LWB Targa’s were ever built the details below - the details below

Open to sensible offers, but please do not expect it to be given away or mess me about. I have had that for the last five and half years, from the builder and house warranty company!
