We are delighted to present for sale this well-sorted lightweight, in original condition. On the outside, there are many period features - the front bridging plate, front and rear bumperettes, front lifting eyes and matching bonnet mounted spare. There have been some subtle newer additions such as a newer canvas for a fresh look, nato hitch and towball and defender style door mirrors for additional visibility. All of this makes for a vehicle that looks just as it should've on release - with little upgrades for more usability in the correct military style. The chassis is also unwelded, again reflecting the late release date from the military.
The interior is very much standard, with a square heater with front demist, military flyscreens two front seats with battery box in the middle. Static seat belts are fitted to the two front seats with rear inertia lap belts fitted to the two individual tip up seats in the rear.
Out on the road, this lightweight is a joy to drive - the petrol engine is whisper quiet and starts up with the first turn of the key. This is perhaps due to the late release as it feels well sorted and 'tight'.
In summary then, if you are looking for a nice, original, period lightweight then this could be for you. These vehicles represent a good value way into Land Rover ® ownership, and with the late release and classic insurance, it should prove cheap to run.
