Unfortunately you are viewing an advert for my 1992 Honda CRX Vtec 1. 6i-vt in Celestial Blue. This was my dream car but unattainable in the nineties. Roll forward twenty something years and after a lot of searching I managed to find this car in this condition.
After languishing in a barn for ten years this car had been restored by CRX specialist Aaran Jessop. I have the original invoices and lots of photos of the restoration. The car had new fuel tank, abs sensor, cam belt and water pump plus bodywork and paint job. Underneath and cavities were wax oiled, etc, etc. That said it is not quite perfect and there are still a few jobs that I would have liked to do. But regrettably circumstances have changed and having this car in dry storage as a toy for weekend tinkering is no longer possible. So, needs must and with a heavy heart it is time to say goodbye.
The car is totally original, no drainpipe exhaust, no lowered suspension or aftermarket alloys or steering wheel. Actually it does have a modern stereo but the original is still with the car too. As previously mentioned, I had planned to undertake some additional TLC this year. The sunroof has been replaced in the past with a fibreglass one but this isn’t to my satisfaction so I had lined up a replacement metal panel. Also, I am not 100% happy with the paintwork on the rear bumper so this was on the todo list for a respray too. Tyres and alloys are spot on though. My plans also included getting Aaran Jessop to service the car ready for the next MOT in July. I had expected to budget around £500 for this TLC so please do bear this in mind.
Interior is great although it is missing a small plastic screw cover for the passenger door handle. The seats are in amazing condition considering that they haven’t been restored. They have small black reinforcing strips to stop the side bolsters splitting. The best thing is the low mileage, just 67k.
There are two keys and two immobilisers. I have also been collecting the original sales brochures and such like which I will let go with the car. I am very happy for anyone to discuss the car with the the restorers for peace of mind.
I have only used supreme unleaded and the car has done less than a thousand miles a year for the last three years since the restoration work. She is kept in dry storage.
I am the fourth owner.
