1972 Ex Military Land Rover Series 3 Petrol 109 LWB
Full mechanical restoration and rebuild just completed....
This classic ex Royal Artillery petrol powered series 3 Land Rover is now ready for a new owner and plenty of summer fun.
All mechanical parts have been stripped and rebuilt/ replaced as required.
Original heavy duty chassis has been stripped down to bare metal, repaired and rust proofed.
Rebuilt engine, gearbox, axles, brakes system, steering, suspension, wiring, props, fuels system etc. etc.
The Steel Bulkhead has also been stripped down to bare metal, repaired and repainted in military spec Olive drab and the interior portions have been coated in a protective layer of anti chip coating and also top coated. This critical part of any Land Rover is now 100% rust free.
All alloy body panels have been stripped down to uncover the original 1970's disruption camouflage and all bodywork is now free from the dreadful body filler which has no place on a sturdy Land Rover. Any dings and dents are there for all to see and respect...;)
All interior surfaces which are subject to wear and tear ie. floor, footwells and seatbox have been etch primed and coated in a tough damage resistant coating before top coat painting.
New parts include Full khaki canvas soft top with side windows, new shockers and bushes, all brake components including full copper brake lines, clutch, steering links and ball joints, carb, fuel pump, seatbelts, headlights and lighting, door seals, door tops, floor panels, exhaust system....... and much more....
The aim of the restoration was to build a classic series 3 which retains as much of its classic Land Rover character and using as many of the original components as possible.
All safety related parts such as brakes, steering and suspension have been replaced with new parts... and in some cases upgraded to better suit the more demanding aspects of modern day driving.... The changes are subtle and all in keeping with the Land Rovers inherent appeal.
Servo assisted brakes and dual line brake system, improved defender type front seating in black vinyl, full set of 265/ 75x16 radial tyres on heavy duty steel wheels.
I have a complete photographic record of the rebuild and this will be supplied with vehicle.

Often seen as the ideal series of Land Rover to live with.... the Ex military series 3 models are seen as one of the true classics built by Land Rover... offering many upgraded features over the std civilian models.. ie heavy duty chassis and suspension, reinforced axles and stronger internal components... twin fuel tanks, heavy duty cooling system and lots more....
