Originally built and first registered in 1996 this is one of only 42 Mille Miglia, SL500's ever made. The Mille Miglia edition was launched to pay homage to the famous 300SLR that Sir Stirling Moss and Denis Jackson raced, in the gruelling 10 hour, Mille Miglia Endurance event. it was 40 years prior to the release of this car that, they not only won the race but averaged a very impressive 98mph speed across the 1, 000 mile event.
This edition came with all the usual SL500 refinements but also had, bespoke red and black leather interior, carbon fibre effect fascia and dash console. One-off 17" Alloy wheels, Chequered flag on the front wing and all were presented in Brilliant Silver Metallic paint. Our particular offering looks as good as the day it was purchased.
With only 2 owners from new, a full service record with extensive invoices, including a recent major overhaul at the tail end of last year with an invoice in excess of £2, 000. This car has certainly been fastidiously maintained and loved throughout her life. The existing owner will be sad to see her go. The hardtop still has the stand and also a hardtop cover to protect from any storage marks.
