Exterior
Presented here is the opportunity to acquire one of the last examples of the Porsche 996 Carrera 4S (reg date 12/ 04/ 2004), with a sought after specification and exceptionally low mileage. The Porsche's coachwork is in fabulous condition, straight along every panel and free from any body repairs. The Basalt Black (colour code LC9Z) paintwork is equally fabulous with no blemishes and a beautiful glossy finish throughout. The car has been given a full body soft head machine polish and hand wax while in with us to emphasise and protect the gorgeous paintwork. There is some light hazing to the middle of the front bumper and some small marks to the rear bumper (as can be seen in the photos), however both bumpers will be removed and professionally resprayed prior to sale. Underneath the car lay its original and genuine Porsche C4S wide body alloy wheels, which will also be professionally refurbished to remedy any light curb marks present. Wrapped around the wheels are new Pirelli P Zero N rated tyres.
Interior
The black leather interior is in great condition, as should be expected of a Porsche that's covered a mere 59, 000 miles. The seats have not sagged and still look fresh, the carpets are unmarked, and the dashboard, steering wheel and door cards etc have all aged very nicely indeed with very few signs of wear. Everything inside the Porsche operates as it should do, including the electric sun-roof and the air conditioning system which blows ice cool thanks to the O ring seals being renewed while with us, followed by a system re-gas. This particular C4S has a stunning array of optional extras, which includes: Litronic xenon headlights, PCM satellite navigation, heated seats, suede alcantara headlining, parking sensors and Porsche switchable exhaust (PSE). There are two keys with the car and both are fully operational remote fobs. The optional extra codes read as follows: 288, 342, 425, 440, 567, 601, 635, 650, 665, 666, 668, 670, 692, 586, 09991.
Mechanics
The Porsche drives like a car younger than its age; it feels tight, fresh and generally like the low mileage 911 it is. The 3. 6 litre flat six engine mounted to the rear operates perfectly, starting as it should, idling smoothly and revving up crisply. There aren't any leaks underneath, smoke emitted from the rear or abnormal noises within. There is tremendous power at the car's disposal and there is a fabulous noise produced by the Porsche switchable exhaust system. As per the advert title, we have upgraded the IMS bearing to the "EPS" cylindrical bearing, as offered in our IMS upgrade kit, so there are no worries regarding the intermediate shaft bearing with this car. The six speed manual gearbox changes through its speeds effortlessly and the clutch is light with a positive engagement having been renewed by us, along with the rear main oil seal while the IMS bearing was being done. The suspension and steering feels utterly tight to the person behind the wheel, with the lower control arms being renewed recently and the top mounts, bump stops and bearings all being renewed while in with us. The brake discs and pads were renewed only 10, 000 miles ago so stop the car very well indeed.
Service history
A full service history is with the Porsche, including a fully stamped service booklet, some invoices for previous works and past MOT certificates.
The service intervals are as follows: 28/ 04/ 2005 - 6, 516 miles, 18/ 06/ 2008 - 20, 156 miles, 20/ 02/ 2010 - 29, 630 miles, 29/ 01/ 2011 - 36, 205 miles, 25/ 10/ 2013 - 42, 819 miles, 26/ 02/ 2015 - 45, 623 miles, 16/ 09/ 2019 - 60, 204 miles.
The previous owner recently renewed the brake pads and discs all round, suspension lower control arms, and the Pirelli P Zero tyres. In addition to this, as stated above, we have renewed the clutch and rear main oil seal, as well as upgrading the IMS bearing to the EPS cylindrical bearing. We have also renewed the front suspension top mounts, bump stops and bearings, as well as repairing and re-gasing the air conditioning system and renewing the car's horn.
