Description
VW Camper T2 – Devon Low-Light
The Volkswagen camper is an iconic image recognised all over the world that is ideal for holiday adventures (I drove the Ireland Atlantic Way coast road around Ireland last year in mine), lazy days at the beach with the family or camping at the Goodwood Revival with music, beer and BBQ.
Our 4 berth, bay window/ low-light, RHD 1972 Devon in two tone savannah beige/ cloud white with Westfarlia roof (does not leak like the original) has clearly been loved by previous owners. The original interior is in good condition with recent replacement foam/ covers/ matching curtains and propex interior heater. . This Devon conversion is my personal favourite with lots of cupboards and a swing-out cooker that enables you to cook alfresco, weather permitting. The original table/ stall are with the van and the bed is a good size with space for youngsters in the Westfarlia roof – not bunks like the original Devon pop-top.
Mechanically the bus has an upgraded 1679cc twin carb engine that drives extremely well with recent clutch, voltage regulator & oil seals. The engine bay has a plumbed in fire extinguisher system and leisure battery with an isolator switch to main battery for when you are parked-up.
The body was resprayed some years ago and today presents extremely well while the chassis is excellent with no corrosion issues. The history folder contains old MOT’s/ invoices, Volkswagen and Devon handbooks and original build certificate indication that she left Wolfsburg on 2nd June 1972
Everybody should own a VW Camper once in their life. This is one of the nicest looking/ best driving that we have had the pleasure to offer for sale and is turn-key ready for new adventures with the lucky new owner..
