Description
Volkswagen Golf GTI, 2. 0 TFSI [200bhp].
All the usual GTI refinements as well as auto wipers, auto lights, cruise control, dual climate etc. and heated leather seats.
- 2. 0 TFSI (gets about 35mpg on my 8 mile commute)
- Registered May 2006
- 82, 000 miles (72, 600 when I bought it last July)
- MOT 14/ 11/ 19 (can put a years MOT on it for the buyer)
- Full service history (timing belt + water pump changed early this year)
- Wings replaced under VW corrosion warranty
I’ve had a few of these now so I know the common issues they have and the correct/ preventative maintenance they require to keep them good. For example changing the cam follower regularly. My neighbour owned the car from 2012 until 2018 and only covered around 12, 000 miles in the 6 years as he had a work van. It took 4 years of me pestering him to finally sell it!
It had the common rusty wings replaced under VW corrosion warranty in 2016 and last year I also replaced the rusty bootlid. It has been serviced regularly and had loads of work carried out since I bought it including: new Bilstein front & rear shocks, H&R springs, top mounts, drop links, font & rear discs and pads, rear brake heatshields, new dipstick (the old ones crumble). I can’t stand to hear any rattles so anything that rattles is replaced. Early this year (maybe 2, 000 miles ago) it was given a full service so all fluids and filters were replaced, spark plugs, thermostat, timing belt + water pump, cam follower… basically THE WORKS!
It is totally standard and unmolested (bar the new suspension). It has the 18” Monza alloys (which could do with a refurb), factory blue tint glass, factory shark fin aerial, heated leather interior, dual climate control, cruise control, CD multi-changer in armrest, Bluetooth music/ phone transmitter. It drives great and everything works as it should.
I have a folder full of receipts for the car to verify the service history and new parts, right down to bulbs and wiper blades. I’ve hidden the private reg in the pictures but just mail me for it if you want to run any checks. Any questions please get in touch.
Thanks.
