We have immense pleasure in welcoming this stunning opalescent grey metallic Daimler 250 into stock. Having been in the same family for the last 44 years we are confident that thesis the most genuine example currently available anywhere .
It boasts some fabulous credentials having just 2 former keepers from new, with the first couple being husband and wife and the last chap being their nephew for the last 14 years.
This vehicle has been a real family treasure from new which is evident from the genuine nature of the vehicle as a whole. There is a large folder full of history including a documented full restoration in the 70’s which has held up incredibly well. It is panel straight with very good door/ panel gaps. The chrome is the best on any model Jaguar/ Daimler I have had of this vintage for a very long time. Being an older restoration there is a good few rubbers that have some perishing/ cracking which is not particularly difficult nor expensive to replace. There is some minor marks on very close inspection in the paintwork and a few areas that would benefit from professional detailing . The rear removable wheel arch spats do have a couple of bits of surface corrosion on the inside edge (not visible in the photographs).
The interior has had all the carpets previously replaced in my opinion, so these are in super order. All of the leather has worn very well but in order to make perfect you would re colour (connolise ) this . All of the wooden veneers are in perfect condition with no de laminating or cracking at all. The headlining and covered visors appear to have been recovered previously and present very well with no sagging or signs of the trim/ glue falling away.
Underbody of the 250 is a true compliment to both the restorers in Coventry and the family ho have looked after it all of its life. It requires no welding whatsoever nor is there any signs of any previous works required, the full chassis, floorpans, suspension and associated components were treated as part of the restoration works and remain in fabulous condition to this day. All four wheels have been recently powder coated and four premium tyres fitted.
This is a running, driving, usable car with fantastic brakes and an unrepeatable pedigree. Whilst freely available for sale I have ensured the previous owners that this will find a good home amongst a fellow enthusiast who will love and cherish the car they have done themselves.
