This is one of the first and arguably one of the best replica Cobras made. I found the car in California 15 years ago and brought it back home. It is an Arntz brand factory built car, most sources indicate around 80 cars were built. Google Arntz cobra for more information. The objective was to make a relatively accurate replica, but more importantly a safe and good handling chassis. Much track testing was done at the build facility located at Sears Point raceway. The end result was a chassis with more torsional rigidity than the original Cobras chassis and a performance suspension to match. The rear suspension is Jaguar E-type independent suspension, and the front end is a modified MGB front suspension with GM vented disk brakes and bigger calipers. Unlike most Arntz cars this one has a Ford powertrain – a very healthy 289 ford built by a race shop in the Sonoma valley. The lighter small block gives up some horsepower to the big block engines usually fitted, but the benefit is a better handling and more balanced chassis. The car is fitted with a 5 speed transmission so it drives pretty nicely on the highway as well. The look is a bit understated finished in white without any stripes but does have the correct look with replica Hallibrand wheels like what the original cobras had. There is no top, but I do have a tonneau cover for it. One other oddity is that this car has an original AC cars vin tag and is registered with the original AC cars vin number as it always was when it lived in California. A fun, fast nice handling car to drive! Priced at $38, 900 Canadian dollars, which is about $22, 700 GBP. We have shipped many cars worldwide and can help with coordinating shipping.
