1982 Mk3 Ford Capri 2. 0ltr S; project (with spares)
The car you always promised yourself.

This is my second Ford Capri and I have owned this one since 2006. I took it off the road in 2010, due to other commitments and some minor welding that was required and unfortunately that’s how it’s been ever since. So it is looking a little sad and in need of some love. It’s been in and out of garages and covers and recently exposed to the elements.
Since coming off the road, additional rust has developed; It has a few minor rust bubbles on the roof near the sun-roof area, it will need new/ repaired rear arches and lower back quarters, it needs a new/ repaired floor/ foot well, it has some rust-damage to the front bonnet and the front wings, plus the passenger door. Remember it’s a Ford, nearly 40 years old!
For someone with the space and ability to weld, this will be a straight forward project with all of the areas that are in need of attention having panels that are now easily sourced, or that can be easily patched.
Unlike many of the top-spec models, that have survived hidden in collections there are very few standard looking 2. 0ltr now in existence, many have completely rusted away or have been overdone with kits, so grab yourself a lovely motor wanting to be restored to its former glory and shown off at the classic car show circuit, or go all out and pimp it!
It still runs and sounds lovely. I recently I fitted new plugs, coil and contact, dizzy and condenser.
The car itself is fitted with a 2. 0ltr SOHC pinto, that’s had a fast road cam installed and the previous owners had upgraded the gearbox to the 5-Speed box. At the moment the interior has been removed, to further inspect the floor.
Included in the sale is the interior is from both a 1986 Mk3 Ford Capri Laser, the popular recaro cloth shark grey, and also the original more in demand retro Black & Red-Striped fish-netted interior from the 2. 0S as seen in one of the photos and is also part of the sale.
In addition to you purchasing the Capri shown, with all it's interior and running gear. I am also including in the sale, all the spares I have accumulated, I have way too many spares for the Capri to list all of them, but basically when I managed to write-off my first Capri; 1986 Mk3 Ford Capri Laser, every last nut and bolt was stripped out of it and only the crumpled shell scrapped, so the spares include but are not limited to;

I even procured a power steering pump and rack from a 2. 8i.
Not included in the revised price (£6450) is the spare engine and gearbox, "2. 0ltr pinto engine with ancillaries & 5-speed Gearbox". These are can be included for a total price of £6950, but would need collecting from another location.
Viewing is welcomed, but basically the car is in need of an overhaul and is sold with all the spares that I can find (except the engine/ gearbox) (these will make you a small fortune on Ebay!) hence the reasonable asking price.
£6450, but any reasonable offer may be accepted.
The car itself will need to be trailered away, but the number of spares won’t fit inside it. So a van will also be required.
The Capri and most of the spares are located in Cheshunt EN8, which is outside the London LEZ (Low emission zone) however the spare pinto engine and Gearbox are in Enfield EN3, 5-miles away, but within the zone, so please check your collection vehicle and fees. I've shown these removed from the sale and reduced the price accordingly, but can be added back in.
Having owned a Capri(s) for over 18 years, there are plenty of spares, many of which aren’t listed above, but are included, I have given the best overview possible. Some of the items may be damaged or no longer usable, others may be in excellent condition. If you have a question, I will try answer to the best of my knowledge. No time wasters please.
I’ll be sad to see it go and would love it to go to an enthusiast who will treat it right. Unfortunately other projects having taken a priority and the space is required.
