We are delighted to present for sale this Land Rover® Series 3 Fire Engine, bought us originally in 2015, and then sold to the current owner. Advanced age now means that he is looking to sell it – having owned (and used) it in his locality in Somerset, for vehicle shows and demonstrations.
This superb show vehicle was taken in part exchange and was driven around 150 miles to us. It is a rare 109 Fire Engine which has survived in superb original condition. Most items are present with the exception of the roof ladders (available to buy still) and perhaps a nozzle or two and it is a fully functioning vehicle. The Godiva pump on the front is fully working, and it has been tested. For a bit of fun the blue lights and twin sirens all work – ideal for show work.
Inside the vehicle there is all the kit one would expect to see – stand pipes, strainers, hose reels etc etc. There are twin internal lights, both working, and the gorgeous, roof mounted chrome light is also fully working and able to be reeled out and used remotely, off the vehicle.
The paintwork is stunning and with a mere 46, 000 miles on the clock she is a joy to drive. With the long wheel base and extra weight on board , the ride quality is about the best we have experienced.
This gorgeous fire engine has won “Best In Show,” and is ideal for this purpose, or just to trundle around having some fun. If you live in an area that floods, she is capable of easily moving water away from vunerable areas, or if you require watering services away from the mains she can transport and distribute many gallons of water via the easy fill on board tank.
Tax exempt fire engines are rare – ones that look good rarer, and ones that work too…..!
