We are delighted to present for sale this very high specification rebuilt Series 2a, presented in popular Light Pastel Green, with limestone wheels and safari roof.
Externally, as the photos show, this vehicle is well presented with a sprayed gloss finish to all areas. The safari roof is a welcomed addition as it has alpine lights, original glass side windows and roof vents for summer cooling. Features such as a bonnet mounted spare, wing mounted mirrors, vintage plates, rear grabhandles and galvanised front bumper with towing eyes make this an all-round pleasing package. A towball is fitted to the strong, galvanised chassis making this ideal as a vintage tow-truck. Standard period rims are fitted with more road-biased tyres for a quieter ride on the tarmac. The overall external effect, in our opinion, is well considered and easy on the eye.
Internally, the feeling of a well-presented 2a continues – there are three front standard seats along with matching bench seats to the rear, giving seating for up to seven occupants including the driver. Deluxe matting is fitted to the front and the rear is tidily carpeted to reduce cabin noise and to add comfort. The dash is pleasingly presented – the period steering wheel survives and the heater is plumbed with demist for both front windows ideal for cold morning starts. In summary, the interior is a clean, well detailed environment.
Out on the road, this vehicle truly shines… this is due to a combination of factors – the parabolic springs and road biased tyres give the best possible ride quality, the smooth engine with power-plus SU Carb conversion pulls extremely well and coupled with the overdrive gives a more powerful, more economical yet relaxed cruising experience. The station wagon roof gives the cabin an airy feel, and the added extra interior comforts make this a more civilised passenger experience. With all of these factors put together with the galvanised chassis, and this really is, in our opinion, a very desirable 2a.
In summary, if you are looking for a Series 2a that has been rebuilt and has a great specification that can transport the family around in relative comfort then this good looking vehicle is worthy of consideration….. and at about half the price of a new rebuild, we think it represents superb value for money. Long-term ownership costs should be low thanks to MOT & Tax Exemption and classic insurance too.
