I had toyed with the idea of selling my XM last year but decided to keep it. I’m self employed and due to the current climate and not being able to work I now need to sell this car to be able to afford to live. Gutted is an understatement.
K Ban is a 1992 2. 1 turbo diesel and a well known car in citroen and XM circles. The spec on this car is impressive featuring electric windows all round, electric mirrors, electric front seats, remote central locking and an interesting electrically operated arm rest all in perfect working order. The only thing that doesn’t work is the sun roof, it is 100% leak free though. The car is completely standard with the exception of a modern touch screen radio/ satnav which has been installed by a previous owner, this however is hidden under the cover. The glove box open and closes fine and the interior of the car is in beautiful condition.
Externally the car is in really good order, it does have some age related marks here and there as you would expect but nothing that detracts from the look of the car. When polished up she really does look lovely. She sits on 4 matching tires with tons of wear left in them. She’s recently had new boot struts and last year had a new clutch cable (try and find another) so there’s nothing to worry about there and she was serviced last august. She starts, stops and drives beautifully and there are no suspension issues/ leaks.
I used the car daily during the summer and she was super reliable and incredibly economical. The car came with very little history but there are extensive threads on the XM forum detailing the work done to this car over the years by real citroen enthusiasts, it really is a very interesting story. She is MOT’d until early April, however due to the corona virus situation that now stands valid until early October. I see no reason why she wouldn’t fly through another test.
The only fault with the car I’m aware of is a small pin prick in the top radiator hose. This will need replacing as it does cause the car to lose water. Other than that this is a very nice XM that could be made exceptional without too much effort.
