Here for sale is my 1990 Honda Legend 2. 7i V6 coupé. Those in the know will appreciate how rare these MK1 coupés are. This is currently the only one for sale in the UK and probably one of a handful left with a valid M. O. T.
The official Honda colour is ‘Seattle Silver’ (light beige), with black leather interior.
This example was last on the road in mid-2008. It was taken out of storage and taken for M. O. T. in January and failed on multiple areas.
All of the recent M. O. T. failures have all been addressed over the past few months. The current M. O. T. expires on 6th April 2021.
Recent receipts (Jan-March 2020) include:
- Spark plugs
- Oil
- Oil filter
- Air filter
- Refurbished rear brake caliper (nearside)
- Refurbished rear brake caliper (offside)
- Rear brake pads
- Handbrake cable
There are 21 receipts for various parts purchased from a Honda Main Dealer. These receipts total £1, 800. 00 and they’re all dated 2008 (the same year the car was put away).
In addition to these receipts, there’s a further 4 receipts to the value of £1, 100. 00 from an independent, all dated 2008. I won't list them all, but receipts show parts such as shock absorbers, exhaust, badges, suspension arms and more.
I’d estimate that the car has covered less than 4000 miles since £2. 9k was spent in 2008. The current mileage is 91, 991 and the following M. O. T. certificates are present:
- 1994-1995 (28, 092 miles)
- 1995-1996 (32, 325 miles)
- 1996-1997 (34, 750 miles)
- 1998-1999 (37, 528 miles)
- 1999-2000 (40, 313 miles)
- 2000-2001 (41, 550 miles)
- 2001-2002 (42, 910 miles)
- 2002-2003 (49, 896 miles)
- 2003-2004 (55, 489 miles)
- 2004-2005 (65, 083 miles)
- 2007-2008 (79, 602 miles)
- 2020-2021 (91, 991 miles)
The original Honda handbook pack including owner's manual and service book are included. The service book has 16 stamps (all Honda Main dealers), dating from the pre-delivery inspection in 1990 to the last one at Francis Honda in Leicester in 2005 (67, 106 miles).
When I acquired the car it had an aftermarket stereo fitted. After lots of searching I managed to find an original head unit from a Legend of the same era, which has now been fitted and is fully working.
This Legend drives really well with smooth gear changes and no knocks or bangs. The V6 engine sounds perfect. The electrics work well, such as the electronic climate control, cruise control, power driver’s seat, electronic seatbelt assist, four electric windows, sunroof and electrically adjustable mirrors. I have noticed the ALB and EML lights come on occasionally, but not on every journey. One of the headlight washers/ wipers is faulty, but the other works.
The interior is in decent condition for its age, apart from the stitching on the back of the rear headrests is coming away, which is a common issue on these. The original Legend branded floor mats are there too. Two keys are included, as is the original Honda remote fob, but unfortunately this doesn't work.
One of the owners was a long term owner of 17 years from 1990-2007. The car has had six registered keepers over 30 years, including myself.
The tyres are all on 6mm with no uneven wear, however due to age they could benefit from replacement.
The bodywork has had some work carried out to the front offside wing and rear nearside for the M. O. T. These areas require finishing (painting).
There are various smaller areas on the bodywork which will require cosmetic attention to make perfect such as around the fuel filler door and other small areas, however the car is more than presentable for 30 years old. The aluminium wheels could benefit from refurbishment which shouldn’t cost too much for wheels of this size.
The car had two pieces of exterior trim missing when I got it (front right and rear left), which I managed to source after extensive searching!
I've described the car as honestly as I can and to the best of my knowledge, please get in touch if you have any questions.
Many thanks for looking.
