Factory M121 1. 9L straight 4 SOHC engine and 4 speed, fully synchronised manual transmission - based on the 300SL straight 6 engine.

When new, she went to the UK and thereafter USA. She had one owner in each and was then bought from Michigan, USA to South Africa to start fresh at the age of 51.
Since 2012 she was restored passively with the utmost perfection. The entire project was done to be in accordance with the Bruce Adams Job Aid for a 190SL, such as this. The photos doesn’t do her justice - come see her in person.
She runs and drives perfectly, any distance. Her original solex carburettors are still running as intended.
Being a removable hardtop car she did not have a soft top standard. A foldover for these cars were sourced by K&K Manufacturing. It was brought from Poland, assembled and fit in South Africa. It was folded away and the hard top has not been removed since the restoration was completed in 2016/ 7. She is best with her top on.
The paintwork and interior is as good as anyone would get. The car had a Quartz coating done recently and is protected going forward. Same for the interior.
This iconic colour and combination with the leather interior just sets it apart from anything available is South Africa. It is truly a must see.
The finishing throughout is exquisite and above the usual SA standard for locally restored cars. The owners helping hand, finishing touches and attention to detail is what made this car what it is today. The custom “ONE 90” numberplate is sold with the vehicle.
