August 1973 MG Midget 1275 RWA for sale - owned for almost 30 years.
Not Currently MOTd due to Lockdown (Last MOT Expired May 2019) so on SORN.
Used as weekend fun car and also mild competition - Craigantlet Hillclimb, Kirkistown Sprint and many MGCC and TSCC Rallies, Trials and Driving Tests.
Bodywork - no rust or accident damage, in BRG with original Ochre interior, Laminated Windscreen, black velour bucket seats, Moto-Lita Leather steering wheel, Brantz II Trip with remote zero, Securon Harnesses, Safety Devices FIA-spec rear rollover bar, One-piece f/ g front (original steel wings, valance and bonnet are included in the sale), 5 x KN 13” Minator alloy wheels (Minilite Replicas) on Bridgestone SF215/ B320 tyres, good soft-top, FACET solid-state fuel pump in boot, Fuel tank guard, FIA masterswitch in dash panel with ‘pull’ cable in scuttle panel. Original Martin Ingall fly-off handbrake.
Front suspension/ steering - Frontline double-wishbone kit with adjustable AVO telescopic shocks, 11/ 16” anti-roll bar with original MOWOG clamps, Frogeye rack (quicker) on alloy mounts, 400lb coil springs, Goodridge braided brake flexi-pipes.
Engine - 1275cc bored out to +40 thou, built by Smiths Engineering Ballymena, MG Metro unleaded/ bigger valve cylinder head, Kent 286 Camshaft, Aldon Distributor matched to camshaft, Petronix Ignitor kit, Peter May engine-steady bar, as new set of 1. 25” SU Carbs, K&N Air Filter, 3-Branch Peco Exhaust Manifold, extra (manual) cooling fan fitted.
Transmission - Standard 1275 clutch, gearbox and propshaft - Frontline 5-speed was fitted some years ago but removed after a short time to bring car back to original.
Back axle - Moss lowered 1” leaf springs, Peter May Anti-tramp bars and Panhard Rod, Frontline rear adjustable SPAX telescopic shock kit, 3. 9 Ratio diff with plate-type LSD, standard half shafts and hubs, Goodridge braided brake flexi-pipe.
Selling due to lack of use and to help fund another project. 30 years of spares come with the car including new caliper, spare head, original brochures etc.
Car is available for viewing evenings or weekends with usual social-distancing measures. Asking price is £7, 500 - reasonable offers considered. I can deliver buyer and the car to Belfast or Dublin docks.
