Description
I’ll start by being honest and saying this isn’t a show winner. It has had an average paint job in the past by a previous owner, and has a few dings and scratches. It is still a very presentable, bright car and I’ve taken it to car shows without embarrassment. It could just do with a little cleaning, tinkering and general minor improvement. However, I can find no signs of previous welding or a need for any – even the battery tray looks good! The spot welds around the car all look original and therefore I believe no panels have previously been replaced. It could do with re-undersealing but I’d never do this before selling a car, as I don’t want to look like I’m hiding something. It needs the screen replacing due to a recent crack, but I guess you’ll do that on your insurance (or I can do it on mine after payment of a deposit, for £100 extra and a delay in picking the car up). It is a very standard, original car and the only modifications I can find are a Toad immobiliser, Witter tow bar and Sony CD/ MP3 player (I have the original radio if wanted but don’t have the code). The interior is in generally tidy and good condition but has the expected “saggy” seats and door panels, but there are no dashboard cracks.
The hood was replaced by a previous owner and is still as new. This is NOT a power hood. The car does NOT have PAS or ABS either so is a standard spec car, so less to go wrong.
135, 000 miles, little evidence of mileage but the MOT history suggests this is correct. Runs very well and just had a new starter motor and fuel pump relay. It had the cambelt, tensioner and water pump changed in 2018. The gearbox had all new bearings and seals in 2014 at which point a new clutch and new alternator were fitted. A new steering rack was fitted in 2016. Other than servicing that’s all it’s needed since I purchased the car in 2013.
One issue that is peculiar is that the speedometer numbers have blurred. The milometer numbers are fine and line up but some speedo numbers are fuzzy. You can still see the speed easily enough and I didn’t want to change the speedo.
MOT to November 2020 (the last MOT was in April 2019 and it’s only done 200 miles since, but this may go up).
I am selling now due to a lack of use mainly following the arrival of our second child last year, as the rear lap belts mean it can’t take two child seats. The sale will need to be socially distanced so please ask any questions or for photos before coming to view.
Car is in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
