Saab 9000 2. 0i CD saloon
Non turbo model, manual
MOTd with 100k on the clock
Car is standard as far as I can tell apart from an upgraded headunit at somepoint. Has all the luxuries for a high spec car of its day. I infact acquired it on a bit of a whim as it turned up locally and I love these older, retro cars, plus had never had a Saab before.
The car needs a bit more then I can manage just now, but can see potential as it’ll make someone a great car once it’s had a few bits and pieces finished off. There is some surface rust on the bottom edges of the doors and it needs a piece of the exhaust (short centre section, part itself available cheaply) welded into place. The headlining has been stapled up at some point, though I’ve started taking some of them off and it hasn’t left a mark on the lining.
FSH all stamped up until there was no more room in the booklet (20 stamps all by supplying Saab dealer). Was in dry storage between 2012 and 2016. Serviced 8-9 months ago with new rotor arm and distributor cap, plus recent oil, filter and air filter replacement.
New clutch and slave cylinder fitted April 2017 by a local garage (£658) and new alternator belt around the same time too.
The car was supplied by St Claires Saab in June 1989 - still retains the original dealer plates, rear window sticker and key ring - indeed the garage is still trading to this day.
Currently tested until August 2020 (although this will be extended to February 2021 under current Cv19 Mot guidelines.
Thick pile of history and 2 keys here. Not many left on the roads, particularly in such honest and original condition, and only going up in value
This is a very useable and road legal practical classic and even though needs some minor TLC it’s a great car with bags of potential.
