This car is perfect for someone looking for a well maintained, upgraded car that does not leak and starts first time, all whilst driving and sounding like a classic sports car should. That said, there is room for some light fettling should the mood take you.
The car was fully rebuilt in 2014-2015 (supporting photographic folder supplied) and from the last 6 years there are receipts for circa £20k, mainly with Lotus specialist Allon White.
In 2017 she had an engine rebuild, with much new wiring (eg. reading light, clock work and electric windows work), the Philips turnlock stereo was upgraded to a bluetooth, handsfree Tadpole Radio paired with Pioneer speakers (£800).
Fully rebuilt 130 BHP, 1. 6 litre, big valve engine with Weber carbs and a 4 speed gear box; she pulls well through all gears, with no overheating or oil pressure issues.
Sitting on a gold Spyder chasis with upgraded drive shafts, the engine/ gearbox does not leak and the big aluminium radiator with electric fan (inc. manual overide) keeps the engine at optimum temperature, even on a hot day in standing traffic.
The car has had a full off-body rebuild with performance enhancements and also benefits from a fully waterproof Britax sunroof, ideal for spring / summer / autumn months.
The headlights benefit from being driven by electric motors so they open and close quickly and also stay closed, unlike most of those with the original vacuum system.
The car has also benefited from a total body respray and 6 years later there are still no spider web cracks as is commonly visible on cars that have not been prepped and painted properly.
