An outstanding example of this classic Sports Saloon Car, this original factory convertible has undergone a No Expense Spared Restoration. Although there has been a huge amount of new parts it still retains its character. The vehicle was MOT’d when I purchased it although is now exempt, it is also Tax exempt. It was purchased to be completed for my then Fiancé who sadly is no longer with me and now needs to go to a new home.
It is believed to have done around 75198 miles from when it was last on the road in 1990, since then it has had new outriggers, chassis powder coated, new suspension and brakes, new brake and fuel pipes. The engine has been reconditioned, new radiator, high torque starter motor new heater matrix, new fuel tank, the doors look like new old stock, new rear wings, new sills, re upholstered in original colours, re painted in original Wedgewood Blue, new carpets re chromed overrides. New badges, Heritage Certificate There is simply too much to list. The car runs beautifully and drives everything appears to work including the sort after overdrive. It also has the more desirable rotaflex rear suspension and comes with a large file of receipts, old Mot Certificates, heritage certificate, etc.
To complete, there are some minor things outstanding. Hood seals, very easy to fit and readily available. The choke cable is new but the wrong one, again readily available around £12, badges supplied but not fitted. It would also benefit from new seat belts.
I was hoping to finish this car and show it this year, due to the current situation I have not had the opportunity as have been in lock down at my partners house, this is a truly wonderful car and should bring many years of happy motoring to its next owner.
