Toyota corona (toyopet) deluxe rt40 1965 right hand drive.
metallic grey, with green interior. Japans best selling car. And one of toyotas first export cars. First owner 1965 to 1982 (toyota) second owner 1982 to 2013 third owner 2013 to 2016. i am the fourth owner from 2016. owned over four years.
first owner was a toyota dealer. Hence low mileage of only 47, 000 km approx 28, 000 miles! Paintwork all good except on a couple of wing corners. All gaps good, no major rust, very clean underneath, see photos. Rear exhaust silencer will need to be replaced due to small hole at rear of box. All chrome work very good.
the paintwork has been left as it is mostly original. Inside all nice, seats no rips or tears or sagging, dash perfect, all instruments working and radio. Aerial still pops up when radio turned on... still has the original plastic covers on 3 doors and on the beading around the doors! Carpets all perfect with underlay.
inside the boot all original carpets and wheel cover. Never seen another corona with this still intact. Original spare wheel and jack. Came to me with the original 1965 tyres and innertubes which were replaced.
engine is the 2r 1490cc runs perfect, have been changed some hoses and plugs etc runs very well. All levels are good. Gearbox all good with the column gearchange. All the nuts both in the engine bay and under the car still have the original yellow paint to show correct settings.
the car does not have a mot as it is exempt by age. As per photos it has been maintained and garage. All of its 55 years. Includes the japanese owner history to prove ownership and mileage. An original corona brochure, an original handbook, original service books covering mechanical and bodywork for the car. Probably one of the oldest in the uk.
the keys are also original. Not many left in japan in this condition and prices for there own classics are rising fast.
