1961 the "prototype" of the model series W 111 was presented and was built until 1967 in this form. Back then the 300 SE was the most expensive and exclusive model of the 111 series. 708 examples of the convertible were produced in total.
A few years ago this car came back from USA to Germany where it was extensive restored by the brand-specialist Fa. Lehnhardt in Uhlingen. The car was retrofitted to 6. 3-liter technique using an original Mercedes-Benz substitution unit optimized with a long rear axle ratio of 2. 82 completed a self-locking differential.
This car is a beautiful everyday classic with excellent driving characteristics. The asking price is far below the investment made for the vehicle.
