1969 Cortina started life as a 1. 6 Deluxe and in the early 90’s had a full restoration and was converted to 1600E specification. Which is still holding up very well. We have history from the mid 90’s and MOT’s from 1996 where the mileage was 48000 it is now 76000 which is believe to be genuine mileage by the previous owner. I also have the original V5 from 1977 and another V5 from 1996 and the current V5. The vehicle has had little use in the last 6 years less than 500 miles covered. The interior is in excellent condition no rips on the seats or speaker holes in the door cards, there is a crack in the top of the dash and the wooden door capping’s need some attention, everything in the car works but the Rev counter sometimes has a mind of its own but does work. The engine was fully rebuilt when restored with a 711 block and has covered about 20000 miles it starts on the button & has great oil pressure and runs very well but would probably benefit from a service,
Also fitted with the 2000E Gearbox, the car was MOT’d through to 2018 when it was commented that it was remarkable rust free car with only a couple of plates underneath. All the cars doors shut remarkable well and the paint work is in generally very good condition but there are however a few bubbles appearing in the paintwork. The car is a pleasure to drive and drives very straight there is also a large amount of spare parts that will go with the car, it has hardly been used for the last few years and will always require tinkering but is a fantastic example of the MKII Cortina 16 E
MOT and Historic Road Tax exempt.
I have just fitted a new remote servo for better braking with new rear brake shoes.
Also a new battery is now fitted
