We are delighted to present for sale this Land Rover® Series 3 Ragtop, in popular Deep Bronze Green colour scheme, along with green wheels and khaki canvas. We have sold this vehicle before in 2017, so we know it well – and it has given the previous owner many happy (& reliable!) miles – the gent has ‘traded up’ into a rebuilt Series 3, and so part-exchanged this against it.
Externally, this vehicle has many period features – the bonnet mounted spare, vintage plates, rear grabhandles, front and rear lamp guards and recent canvas, to name a few! The vehicle has a recent canvas fitted, and the paintwork looks to be a historically done spray job – better than the brushed finishes that we often see at this age and price point. A recent set of our own 750 chevron tyres are fitted – these are a fantastic tyre, as they have a large flat middle for road use, a large sidewall for off-roading, and they are directional, so they are also self cleaning. Adding all this up leads to a very period and ‘stock’ looking vehicle – which is great to see.
The interior houses three front deluxe seats, which give both superior comfort and a better look, with deluxe matting to the footwells. The rear is unfitted and has a load mat to the floor – rear bench seats could be fitted if required to increase seating to seven seated including the driver. The interior is largely standard too with no nasty additions, which is just what we like to see.
Out on the road, this old girl drives well – the larger rubber gives better gearing ratios and makes cruising a more relaxed task – it delivers a pleasing period driving experience expected of vehicles of this age. The parabolic springs improve the ride over standard, making for a much more comfortable experience.
In summary, if you are looking for a petrol Series 3, then this could be for you. With lots of recent money spent, and the added benefit of MOT & Tax Exemption (and classic insurance too!) it should prove cheap to run in the long term, whilst also being good fun for all the family. There are very few ways to get into Land Rover® ownership at such a cost effective price point, whilst not compromising on spec, and getting a warranty too!
