Description
Following up the much loved Alfasud was always going to be a tall order for Alfa Romeo, but they managed it with the 33, becoming one of the most successful models for the company, selling almost a million cars in an eleven year period. Finding one now though, especially a series one example, would present the Alfa enthusiast with a real challenge, seeing as only a handful are left in the UK.
I couldn't resist buying this one this summer to join my series 2 example, but the realities of running three cars are coming to the fore, so I am putting my car up for sale, to allow another enthusiast to enjoy it.
It is a late series 1, 1986 1. 5 manual, which was a minor model refresh before the series 2 cars were launched in 1987. It spent the vast majority of its life with one family, before being traded in at their local garage. It has a stack of paperwork, as well as all of the original handbooks and toolkit. The original radio cassette comes with the car, though I changed it for a working head unit that is almost as old as the car. ( The original cassette deck wasn't working, only the radio.)
It is mechanically good and bodily sound, except for a few scabby bits on the bottom of three of the doors. The sills have had some minor welding repairs in the past too, though the underside is still in remarkably good condition for its age. The MoT runs until June 2021 and everything in the car works, apart from the passenger window regulator.
It starts instantly and idles nicely. I've had the timing belts, tensioners, water pump and radiator replaced and the plugs and battery are recent too. If you'd like to see more photos, please just ask. The car is located in South East London.
