1971 VOLVO P1800E
Fresh into stock is this super Volvo P1800e . It has covered only 88000 miles from new and comes with a wonderful folder full of history.
We have been fortunate enough to have half a dozen p1800 through our hands ij the last year or so and have watched them both rocket in value and sell amazingly quickly, to the point where in today’s market you seldom see them for sale. As it stands currently there are only 7 for sale in the UK of which 3 are estates (p1800es) 3 are fully restored examples north of £40k in price and the other is a very large project priced at £10k.
This car sits comfortably in the middle at £20k and has had a large amount of restoration work in latter years by the renowned “amazon restorations” The body received a lot of metalwork which included replacing the lower crossmember and all the wing bottom’s and front valance which are weak spots on these cars. These are older repairs and the car is now in need of some further works which consist of: an inch square patch of corrosion above the boot lock which will require cutting out and replacing with fresh metal and the front bonnet hinge will also require some attention (again a common p1800 problem). There are a few minor blemishes under the paint due to the age of the respray although it is very presentable overall.
This is a running, driving car that someone could enjoy as it is no problem or use and improve over the winter lockdown which would be my preference . We are selling as is as our workshop currently has an 18 month lead-time for fresh projects but the car was simply too rare to pass up.
All of the interior trim has also been replaced in the past including door cards, seat covers and carpets so it really does look factory fresh inside.
As the car has been stood for a few years we will be flushing the engine and giving the car a thorough service including all new filters and spark plugs ready for the new owner.
Happy to look at a p ex either classic or modern but please no projects as the workshop doesn’t have the capacity!
