Sold in the UK and Australia, the E36 is the rarest of the AMG models, and the last rocket ships built by AMG before their merger with Mercedes, resulting in AMG becoming more about badge engineering. An E36 can hit 62mph in 6. 7s, and go on to 160mph, but it’s really all about the torque.
N850 BAU has an LPG conversion meaning real world fuel economy, clean emissions and 55p per litre costs. With a 60 litre tank this gives the car a combined fuel range of 750 miles plus. Apart from this and the DAB radio/ CD player, the car is in standard specification, finished in Mercedes Star Silver with light grey leather interior. The M104 engine, hand built by AMG, produces 269bhp, and with the revised and lowered suspension becomes alive but still drives with that typical Mercedes quality ride

Condition and driveability:
The car is in daily use but covers very few miles, hence our reason for sale. The engine pulls like a train and is scary fast but handles on rails; for a big heavy saloon car I think the handling is amazing. The interior is tidy with only minor wear on the driver’s seat. The climate control blows ice cold. This 25-year-old car looks great from 10 feet, but needs love. As we all know W210’s rust, and whilst this one is now sound underneath, the bodywork needs some love. Original AMG 8. 5J 18” alloy wheels are in reasonable condition, and would look great with diamond cut/ polished rims. The rare lightweight alloy spare present and unused. Recent new tyres all round. Non-smoker car. Original unopened factory first aid kit and tool roll. Service history In the Mercedes binder together with a fat file of receipts, x1 key (remote locking).
Restoration works required:
Minor oil leak (front cover) engine service and tune, LPG service to cure air leak on idle (costs around £150) full valet and leather feed kit, replace tint on one of the rear windows (small scratch) outside temperature gauge sender (£20 second hand) minor restoration work to body panels then a nice respray, or wrap.
Value: How do you value such a rare car, with possibly less than 10 cars left worldwide? I have only ever seen one other, and another that was for sale. That rather nice one sold for more than £12k. This car would make a great show car or a fast useable family mileage eater you can run for sensible costs; up to you.
I’ve owned the car for 4 years, and I'm all but hooked, but my insurance is due on the 31 01 21, so the decision is to sell him now, or invest the time and money required, and keep him as our long distance car alongside our new e208, so this is the only window of opportunity someone else will get. If not sold before the 31 01 21 Its off the market for ever. I am only open to offers made in person.
