Beautifully restored 1963 Yamaha YG1 SOLD

Another bike that would not look out of place in a museum, we present to you this stunning, blue YG1 from 1963.
Yamaha were rightfully proud when they introduced the YG1 in 1963. It had some ground-breaking features for its time and led the way to many of the innovations that they introduced later. Here is what Yamaha have to say on the matter: This model mounted a rotary disc valve intake 2-stroke single-cylinder engine with increased cooling efficiency and reliability and adopted many advanced features of the day, including a backbone type monocoque frame, water-resistant drum brakes and megaphone type muffler. The serviceability of the air cleaner, carburetor and clutch were also improved to create a machine that combined sportiness and practicality. (From the global Yamaha website.)
Our beauty here was stripped right back and rebuilt with largely original parts. It's been given flat bars, the frame powder coated and the eniine totally overhauled. . . Then all polished to within an inch of its life.
The YG1 was a remarkable and hugely successful bike at the time and is now a highly sought after classic. This one must be one of the nicest in the country, if not the world.
We are in the process of getting UK registration and this will be included in the price of the bike. Please get in touch for more information.
