This is one of the Lotus Esprit S1's which were sold to South Africa via the Inter Motor Maker relationship with Lotus Cars. There were a number of Elite, Eclat's and Esprit's that were sold and this being one of the Esprit's. Note 'G' is UK domestic - original RHD, all UK spec. Recently repatriated back from South Africa (all VAT and duties have been paid) and the car will be issued with a UK V5 Registration document and will be sent on to the new purchaser.**** SOLD****
Unfortunately the interior has been changed from the original Tartan trim with the Veglia dials, steering wheel, gear knob, ashtrays in the sills. This might be a consequence of the heat in South Africa but the car does have the early features like the narrow door frame strips, early type heater motor, single lamp lift etc. It is a matching numbers car with the correct engine and gear box, Wolfrace wheels and it is complete but does require full restoration. The engine is not seized and the chassis is also in excellent condition except for a modification at the rear that could easily be rectified.
