1983 Honda VF750S (V45 Sabre)
MOT until 12/ 11/ 2021
A classic and rare bike nearing tax and MOT exemption. A mid-size capacity yet unique-soundings V-four engine. It was originally sold in California and was imported and registered in 1997. (This was no hassle when it came to insurance)
The bike has ~35, 600KM, which is about 22, 200 miles or so and will not increase
It’s had a full tank respray, sonic carburettor clean, fresh coolant, new fork seals, cleaned and greased rear suspension linkage, brand new tyres in the last month, the proper indicators wired in and plenty of electrical issues have been fixed by myself. I bought this bike for my A2 license so if that’s what you have or will have, this bike is compatible and I can also give the restrictors and paperwork for another £30.
I have recently checked and adjusted the valve clearances to spec and checked the camshaft for wear and they looked in very good condition. Similarly, there is lots of meat left on the front pads and rear shoes in the drum brake.
The sub-par areas: the worst part of this bike is an easy fix but just something that I’ve ignored since I very rarely ride; the rear shock absorber has deteriorated a bit in my ownership and now has an intermittent squeaking but doesn’t seem to ride poorly. Replacements can be purchased online, with conversions possible if that doesn’t phase you
The self cancelling indicator module doesn’t work but isn’t a problem if you can manually cancel them, but a replacement can be bought online. Also the original battery brace is not with the bike. There is some surface rust on the frame also.
