VOLVO 240 GLT. 1989 2. 3 Litre
The car is in good condition a pleasure to drive and all works well
Bodywork. The body is in good condition and as can be seen in the photos presents well. As far as I know the paintwork is original. There are a couple of small areas would benefit from some attention to take the car to show condition. I have just had a new windscreen fitted as the original screen was starting to delaminate at the edges.
Suspension. The previous owner of the car spent a lot of money having the car fitted with poly bushes to the suspension and Bilstein shock absorbers. This makes the ride of the car slightly firmer than standard but, not in an unpleasant way, the car handles very well. I have recently fitted new lower suspension wishbones to the front suspension simply because the original parts looked a little tired.
Wheels and Tyres. The car is fitted with the correct Volvo GLT wheels (recently refurbished) fitted with Vredestein Sportivo tyres that are less than 1000miles old giving good grip in all conditions.
Engine and Gearbox. The engine starts and runs well with no issues and is oil tight. (no oil consumption between oil changes) The 2. 3 engine which is fitted with the Bosch K Jetronic fuel injection is strong and pulls well through the 5-speed manual gearbox. The timing belt has been replaced in the last 10, 000 miles. No noise from the transmission.
The interior of the car has black leather seats which are in good condition and comfortable. The headlining is in good condition and everything works as expected. The only change I have made is the fitting of a Blaupunkt DAB radio to the dashboard as an upgrade.
This is a car that is often admired and the Volvo build quality shows through making the 151, 000 miles shown on the odometer surprising.
This is the first Volvo I have owned and I have been impressed with how easy the car is to live with spares availability is good, Insurance very reasonable and fuel consumption around 25 – 30 MPG.+ the build quality and design means it is a pleasure to work on. The only reason I am selling the car is because I have been using the car for a couple of years and now I am only selling as I would like a project - that may well be another Volvo (Amazon) the build quality and design means it is a pleasure to work on.
The car has a new MOT that runs to Late August 2022. The MOT was passed with no advisories.

I don’t think this is a car that will disappoint.
