Please read the following in full. I am selling this beautiful 52 Dodge on behalf of its current owner. Now affectionately named Betty I imported and sold this truck to Tony several years ago . Upon delivery it went directly to his local garage to be mechanically gone through. Everything was worked on, I am not going to list everything here but included braking system, steering, electrics, fuel system and suspension. Be assured it was comprehensive with supporting paperwork.
Please note the truck asking price has now been substantially reduced for an early Spring sale. The old girl is 70 years old this year so come and grab yourself a granny!
The truck is a 52 Dodge B3B with original 3600cc 218 cubic inch straight 6 flathead engine. Coupled to its also original 3 speed floor mounted transmission. It's the 5 window Pilot-house cab for better vision. Still retaining its original red factory sun bleached paint it has simply been Ankor waxed for protection. The truck spent its entire life in the USA in the North Oregon desert where although the desert heat bleached the paint, it did however protect the rest of the steel, hence it's great rust/ rot free condition you see here today. You'll notice an Indian vibe around the truck, the truck spent most of its life near a Native American Indian Reservation in Oregon.
The truck of course is registered as Historic on the V5 and is MOT and tax exempt.
It was converted to 12 volts with electronic ignition to make it more user friendly for all year round use.
The engine has recently had a full and comprehensive rebuild , to also include some nice modern upgrades and runs as you would expect, beautifully.
All lights and electrics are fully operative, she has been fitted with brake lights and period discreet indicators too. The wipers are now 12 volt electric rather than original vacuum operated.
Please remember that apart from all the mechanicals replaced to make it a safe reliable and legal vehicle , it is fundamentally still a 70 year old truck. As such it will drive like one, it has no power steering and no power brakes. That said, unlike your 2013 BMW, each and every time you drive this it WILL FEEL LIKE AN EVENT and will put a smile on your face and everyone else who sees it too.
Ideal for weddings and proms, business promotions etc, this is a very charming old truck.
It will not be going cheap, it needs nothing and is turn key ready to drive home. Tony has £24k invested in this beauty so the asking price represents excellent value for what is a mechanically rebuilt truck!
