This ultra rare Suzuki SB200 was a commuter version of the GT200 X5 with a four speed gearbox and 20bhp.
To further compete in the hotly contested commuter class, in 1979 Suzuki produced a down graded version of the sporty X5. They drastically reduced costs all over the bike by fitting drum brakes to both the front and rear, a lighter four speed gearbox, a smaller diameter carburettor and, for the UK market only, removing the electric start.
The SB200 didn’t sell in any great numbers, and today is among the very rarest of 70’s and 80’s Suzuki machines.
