Description

This is not the typical Morris Minor Lowlight Tourer and whilst it does retain many original features, it is not going to suit the purist. This Morris has been subject of an exceptional, outstanding rebuild and upgraded making this ideal for regular summer use and long-distance touring. As part of the professional restoration program in 2010/ 2011, this Lowlight was converted into Tourer specification and the mechanical upgrades included a brand new Ivor Searle 1098cc engine. Since completion HCO 132 has covered just 800 miles.
Whilst our Morris is far from original specification, it does have an impressive history file that includes its original brown ‘buff' logbook. The Morris was first registered on the 7th August 1952 and spent its early life in Torquay, Devon. Today the car still retains its original registration mark HCO 132 and original colour of Green. Interestingly the file contains an MOT dated 13th May 1971 when the recorded mileage was 40545 and some time after this, we believe the Morris was off the road for many years. On completion of the rebuild, HCO 132 had a mileage of 49208 and having been in a private collection since 2014 the Morris has arrived with 50, 010 on the speedo.

Our Lowlight is magnificent on the body and the underside is absolutely first class with a painted underside finish. The car has no rust issues as expected having been completely rebuilt and dry stored with just 800 miles covered. The rebuilt 1098cc engine is as new, as is the later four speed gearbox, so apart from a fresh service of the brakes due to lack of use, the Morris is in excellent mechanical order. The interior was fully re-trimmed and is stunning, as is the hood, engine bay, boot and spare wheel compartment. This is a beautiful car and will suit anyone looking for a more useable Lowlight capable of regular use and longer distance touring. There is no doubt these upgrades vastly improve the drive and performance of the Lowlight, and a restoration and upgrade to this specification and standard would be very, very expensive.
