The Triumph Stag Is one of those classic cars, everyone has an opinion on the "naysayers", (very few in number) have probably never so much as sat in one, let alone driven one. What is there not to like about the legendary stag? it is a practical 4 seater convertible, a thing of streamlined beauty and pride not to be confused with anything else on the road and which doesn't cost the earth. The stag owners club proclaims itself, the largest single vehicle model club in the world. that says it all!
This particular example is in fine shape all round. In its 44 years is has merely had 3 owners. The most recent of the 3 owners owned the car from August 2019. From the history file the second owner/ keeper owned the car from 1996-1997 to 2019 (23 years or so). The first keeper owned the car from from new in 1977 to 1996-1997 (20 years or so). The car is truly a credit to all 3 prior owners.
The stag is finished in gleaming black paintwork on straight original panels and very good chrome work which extends the wheels. The interior is likewise original and in very good condition. The engine of this convertible grand tourer is both powerful and refined with beautiful throaty sound through the twin stainless steel exhaust pipes. To my knowledge the only relevant criticism of the Stag Marque is the tendency of the Tiumph to overheat on occasion. This is not an issue with this example as it is powered by the bullet proof and legendary cologne built 2. 8 injection engine. The car has covered 90. 5k miles from new which equates to just over 2000 miles per annum.
The history file contains the original owners handbook, a number of road fund license discs, mot certificates and invoices for servicing and repairs etc exceeding £17, 000 in value/ cost and that's only going back to 1997. The Stag is tax and mot exempt. However, has a current mot without advisories to 18 October 2022. It is a truly a sound vehicle and indeed investment opportunity to be admired and enjoyed. Love it!
