1. 8 914/ 4 for restoration, I bought the car last year as a restoration project, but having stripped the interior and removed the sill covers it is apparent that the car requires much more welding than I had anticipated and it is beyond my capabilities to restore. The passenger outer sill has been replaced but the repair doesn’t look well aligned so I think this needs re-doing. There is extensive rust in the floor area under the seats and the drivers side sills are also very rusty. In my view the car needs full replacement floors and jacking points along with inner and outer sills both sides. The area under the fuel tank and both front and back boot floors appear good and the battery tray is fine. The paint work isn’t great although the interior and dash cover are in good condition overall, the car ran fine when I bought it and it has a UK V5 in my name. The interior and fuel tank are out of the car and sill covers are off so you can see what needs doing, there are some spares with the car including new discs front and back, pedal bushes and seat mounting brackets. This is either a great project for a skilled metalworker or a good candidate for a rebody into a rust free shell. It rolls but will obviously need trailering.
