Exceptionally rare Vauxhall Monaro VXR 500 - Developed as the final farewell to the Monaro, just 18 examples of the VXR 500 were built as collaboration between tuning specialist Wortec and Vauxhall.
Under the bonnet sit the legendary LS 6. 0-litre V8 fitted with a Wortec supercharger producing a thumping 500PS (493bhp) and 500lb-ft of torque driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The brakes have also been upgraded to compliment the newfound power and torque and inspire real confidence. Other upgrades include a ‘rip shifter’ to shorten the gear throw and a performance cat back exhaust which sounds thunderous and must be heard to be fully appreciated.
Originally registered in January 2007 by Greens of Hillsborough, the car remained unused until purchased by its second owner with just 15 miles recorded. Since then, the car has remained in their ownership with the current mileage showing just 36810.
Finished in brilliant red with a black leather interior, the car is very well specified with standard features including front and rear sport seats with driver memory, climate control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, drilled sports pedals and a Blaupunkt stereo with six-disc autochanger.
The contained within the history file is the full book pack including the service book which shows the car being serviced initially by the supplying dealer and then latterly by Shawtrack Performance with services being carried out at the following intervals 12, 321 miles, 21912 miles, 27924 miles, 30111 miles, 33690 miles, 36198 miles and 36762 miles.
Driving the VXR500 at its launch, CAR Magazine concluded: “This is real horsepower harnessed inside a real four-seat coupe that delivers astounding value, road manners, surprising mpg and genuine usability”, and we couldn’t agree more.
Before delivery to her new owner this powerhouse VXR 500 will be fully inspected in our workshop, serviced and supplied with a fresh MOT.
