Production of the C1 started in 1953 and continued until the C2 model came in 1962
This generation is commonly referred to as the "solid-axle" generation as the independent rear suspension did not appear until the 1963 Stingray

The 1956 model is rarely offered for sale as only 3. 467 copies of this model were produced
