Offered for sale is our Citroen ZX, bought to take part in the Citroen Classic Challenge (Citroen Car Club) tour of France in May 2022. The car completed almost 3, 000 miles from North Yorkshire to and around France without any problem.
We've grown fond of the car, which is comfortable, dependable and economical - it averaged almost 53 mpg across the whole Challenge.
However, we need the money so needs must and the car has to go.
It's solid and presentable, both inside and out, although is not perfect. The car has no substantiated service history except for two recent servicing bills, one of which was the full service given it just before our road trip. Since getting back it's been MOT'd (expires 21/ 06/ 2023). It will require ongoing TLC and some issues listed advisories on the MOT that will need monitoring and attending to in due course.
Cosmetically, there are some imperfections and marks, and the lacquer is peeling in a couple of places. Overall and from a distance, the car looks tidy. It's been fitted with Volcane alloy wheels and the original steel wheels are included in the sale.
Most things work as they should but it does have its quirks, eg, the key operated central locking works most of the time but occasionally fails to lock/ unlock the front passenger door. Similarly, the front passenger door window operates most of the time but can be temperamental. The rear wiper doesn't work and I was given the wrong code for the stereo radio, so I can't get it to work.
It's completed just over 123, 000 miles, which is low relative to the car's age and the XUD diesel engine's longevity. The car continues in occasional use so that mileage will increase slightly.
Any trial or inspection is invited although the car otherwise is sold as seen. However the car is very usable and can be driven away.
