This Land Rover Defender 90 3. 5-litre V8 has been truly cared for throughout its ownership life. It has had a lot of work and TLC over the years by well-known specialist, Hardy engineering. The Defender has also had a recent repaint by Land Rover approved bodyshop, Fastlane. Finished in a beautiful bright white paintwork which contrasts exceptionally well with the retrimmed black interior, as well as an all-new Mohair soft-top. As well this, this Defender has Wipac spotlights, a sump guard, headlight grille covers, side steps, mud flaps, 16-inch wheels and a towbar.
Under the bonnet lives a beautiful 3. 5-litre V8 petrol engine with Holley four-barrel carburettors and an Offenhauser manifold, a Lumenition ignition system including coil and Magnecore ignition leads. It has NGK spark plugs, a K&N air filter and a Facet red top electric fuel pump. The exhaust system is stainless steel including the manifolds. The car also benefits from a new water pump, starter motor, thermostat, viscous coupling, and radiator, filled with Land Rover long life coolant.
The LT85 gearbox and transfer box have been fully rebuilt with new shafts and bearings and a new clutch. The front and rear differentials were rebuilt and new front and rear driveshafts were fitted. Both front swivel joints have been replaced. As well as this, the brakes have been replaced, which were rebuilt by Challenger 4x4, so it now features new discs and pads and new brake shoes at the rear.
Inside, it’s had an upgraded Sony stereo, a centre cubby box with cupholders, a new full carpet set, red seatbelts which match perfectly with the soft, comfortable seats. Security wise, a battery cut-off has been fitted. And for safety, a full length, Land Rover specification roll cage has been added, along with a fire extinguisher.
This Land Rover Defender is an excellent off-roader and a vehicle that is loved by enthusiasts globally. This fine example has been rebuilt, and you can tell just by looking at it, it’s been cared and loved for over the years. It’s fantastic and fun to drive and will certainly turn heads, too.
